Kent State University awards over 1,600 degrees, with more than 260 accompanying institutional honors, and including 822 bachelor's degrees, 418 master's degrees, 71 doctoral degrees, 274 associate degrees and 24 educational specialist degrees.

The first cohort of nursing students to take all of their nursing classes at Patrick Henry Community College's Rocky Mount site passed the state boards with flying colors recently. All 10 nursing students from the Rocky Mount site passed the state boards on their first attempt, and nine of 10 already have full-time jobs as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), according to PHCC nursing faculty Ashley Holt. "It's obviously very important for them in their careers, but also important for the school," said Holt. "For students to be able to achieve a 100 percent pass rate was phenomenal."

Almost 300 JMU students embarked on 30 alternative spring break trips around the country and world this year. The students spent the week servicing others in their destination community while staying focused on teamwork and reflection within their group. Students practiced living simply and were fully submerged in the culture of their surrounding.
